A small and very picturesque traditional riad, ideally located in the busy Azbezt district, just a stone’s throw from the entrance to the bazaars, the delightful Dar Rania comprises 4 bedrooms, all with tadelkt bathrooms. The rooms open onto a pretty little patio with a traditional wall-mounted fountain strewn with fresh rose petals.

This enchanting little riad is tucked away in the oldest part of the medina, dating back to the 11th century. It is a ten-minute stroll from the famous Jemaa el Fna square, and 800 m as the crow flies from the iconic Koutoubia.

It was home to several generations of the same family until 2000, and is part of a group of dwellings built in the heart of the Old City in 1881.

The Riad comprises :

Ground floor
A small reception hall, a corridor leading to the patio, 2 bedrooms with bathrooms and toilets, a fully fitted kitchen, a 40 m2 patio with palm trees and lemon trees as well as a wall-mounted fountain.

First floor
2 bedrooms with bathrooms and toilets, including a large bedroom (more than 25 m2), a beautiful Moroccan-style lounge in a colonnaded gallery, a library and a lavatory.

Roof terrace
A traditional hammam, a solarium, a caïdal tent, a small sitting room and a small office/bedroom.

The 80 cm thick brick walls are in good condition, keeping the house warm in winter and cool in summer. The floors are covered in traditional tiles throughout, with cold-pressed tinted grouting. The traditional ceilings are on solid wooden frames.

The windows are protected by beautifully designed handmade wrought irons bars.

The staff is all Moroccan, and make up a hospitable, dedicated and friendly team, composed of a career receptionist, a qualified cook, and a guide with in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of the city.

Internet access, DVD player, library, board games... are all at our guests’ disposal.
